Jihane Mirode

Jihane is an associate in the antitrust and foreign investment group in Brussels.

She advises on all aspects of EU and French competition law, including merger control, FDI screening, abuse of dominance, antitrust behavioural issues and state aid. She also advises clients on navigating foreign direct investment filings at international level.

Jihane’s expertise is particularly focused on matters related to the Foreign Subsidies Regulation. She has advised and assisted several clients on FSR notifications (both under the M&A and public procurement tools), as well as on developing a tailored FSR methodology and setting up internal processes for information gathering.

• I Squared Capital: advising on the FSR notification related to its acquisition of Arriva
• Several clients: advising and assisting on FSR notifications in the context of public procurement procedures

• GrandVision on its acquisition of eyewear retail chain Smarteyes, cleared unconditionally after a detailed Phase II review
• Assisting on global and French cartel investigations.

Jihane has been an associate in the antitrust and foreign investment practice since 2022. Before joining Linklaters, Jihane interned at several major law firms as well as the in-house competition departments of BNP Paribas and Group Randstad in Paris.

Jihane holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Maastricht. She also holds a Masters in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe.

Jihane speaks French and English.
