Overview

Ruprecht specialises in advising national and international corporates and financial investors on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, co-operations and restructurings as well as general corporate law with a particular focus on healthcare and industrial clients.

He coordinates the activities of the German Linklaters Healthcare sector and is part of the global Healthcare sector practice group.

Ruprecht is also a member of Linklater’s German and international ESG working groups where a cross-functional team closely follows the current developments around ESG and provides comprehensive advice to clients.

In its 2023 Best Lawyers Ranking, German Handelsblatt lists Ruprecht as “One to Watch” for M&A, Private Equity and Corporate Law.

Ruprecht’s experience includes the following matters: 

  • TricorBraun: Advising on the acquisition of glass packaging provider Glassland GmbH.
  • Volkswagen Group: Advising on the sale of Volkswagen Group Rus to local investor Art-Finance LLC.
  • Carrier Global: Advising on the 12bn EUR acquisition of Viessmann Climate Solutions from Viessmann Family Holdings.
  • Vitesco Technologies: Advising on the sale of its Emitec business to DUBAG.
  • Mondi: Advising on the sale of its personal care components (PCC) business to Nitto Denko Corporation.
  • BlackRock: Advising its Global Renewable Power platform on the investment in the European high-power charging network company IONITY.
  • ADQ: Advising on the acquisition of Swiss pharmaceutical and generics group Acino from Nordic Capital and Avista Capital.
  • Linde in connection with the $90 billion merger with Praxair including a highly complex global carve-out of Linde business activities and their subsequent divestments, and on the formation of a strategic 50/50 Joint Ventures with Sahara International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem).
  • AG Real Estate/AG Insurance Group: Advising on the acquisition and sale of various nursing home portfolios in Germany
  • An international healthcare group: Advising on the contemplated acquisition of a laboratory technique supplier.
  • Union Investment: Advising on the joint venture with Hines for the acquisition of the “MediaWorks” office project in Munich’s Werksviertel from Blackstone.
  • Prof Ferdinand K. Piëch: Advising on the disposal of his indirect shareholding in Porsche Automobil Holding SE.
  • Ströer: Advising on several M&A transaction.

Professional experience

Ruprecht has worked for Linklaters since 2013 and has been promoted to Counsel in 2023. In 2007/2008 and from 2010 to 2012 he has worked as research assistant in the corporate/M&A departments of other internal law firms.

Ruprecht is member of the German Corporate Law Association (Gesellschaftsrechtliche Vereinigung/VGR) and the Munich M&A Forum.

Education and qualifications

Ruprecht studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Münster and worked as trainee lawyer for the Hamburg Parliament and in the London office of an international law firm. In 2017, he received his Doctorate (Dr. jur.) from the University of Kiel.

He speaks German and English.
