Overview

Sarah is a counsel in the ESG practice, with a particular focus on ESG and litigation risk management. She has experience dealing with the full spectrum of ESG matters, including human rights and supply chain management. Prior to this she was part of the Linklaters Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations practice where she advised clients on a wide range of contentious and strategic matters. She has significant experience in advising multinational organisations on effective global governance and compliance measures and has advised clients facing or anticipating regulatory investigation, investor activism, brand damage and media scrutiny in relation to a wide range of issues. Sarah has spent time working in the Hong Kong and Tokyo offices of Linklaters (including on secondment to a Japanese trading house).

 

Work highlights
  • Global strategic ESG counsel to several financial institutions: acting and advising on a wide variety of issues including policies, governance and systems required to implement ESG strategies and manage risks (including litigation), ESG regulatory developments and disclosures.
  • Advising a number of multinational corporates in relation to the application of ESG regulations with a focus on a strategic approach to incoming regulations across a wide variety of issues.
  • Advising range of major corporates on the application of soft law human rights standards, including in relation to human rights impact assessments, governance and compliance reviews, and the establishment and operation of UNGP-compliant grievance mechanisms and compensation schemes.

Education and qualifications

Sarah studied English literature at Jesus College, Cambridge.
She is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and Foreign member of the Dai-ni Tokyo Bar Association.
