Overview

Siobhan is a commercial real estate partner who regularly acts for clients on their “big-ticket” transactions. She is experienced in the acquisition, financing, development, letting and disposal of all types of commercial real estate, including offices, retail, student accommodation, logistics and mixed-use schemes. Her clients include major funds, institutional investors, international banks, insolvency practitioners and corporates.

Siobhan also has in-depth and comprehensive experience of complex M&A, financing, insolvency and energy/infrastructure transactions involving real estate - she works closely with Linklaters’ Corporate, Finance/R&I, and Energy & Infrastructure teams to ensure clients receive joined-up transactional advice.

Siobhan is a co-leader of the firm’s real estate sector group.

Work highlights

Siobhan has advised on a number of high profile real estate transactions – particular highlights include advising:

  • Permodalan Nasional Berhad and Employees Provident Fund: on the £1.6bn acquisition of the iconic Battersea Power Station, one of the UK’s largest ever real estate transactions.
  • A consortium of lenders: on the c.£772m development financing for a residential and luxury hotel skyscraper development scheme at One Nine Elms, London.
  • Cadillac Fairview, the real estate arm of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan: on (a) the c.£250m acquisition of White City Place, London and (b) the c.£300m acquisition of five logistics sites across London and the West Midlands (in conjunction with a joint venture partner).
  • Administrators: on the property aspects of (a) the pre-pack administration sale of Studio Retail Ltd and related assets to Frasers Group plc; and (b) the trading administration of the UK arm of Victoria’s Secret and the subsequent sale of the business to a joint venture purchaser.
  • Cale Street Partners: on the acquisition financing of the family-owned Fenwick flagship department store on Old Bond Street, London for a mixed-use redevelopment.
  • Strategic Value Partners: on the c.£1.6bn sale of a leading recycling and energy company, which operates the largest Energy from Waste (“EfW”) facility in the UK, and subsequently advising the company in respect of the property aspects of (a) a £554m debt refinancing and (b) the development and financing of an adjacent EfW facility.

Professional experience

Siobhan has published articles on various aspects of commercial property law, including on authorised guarantee agreements and the Register of Overseas Entities, and is described as being “whip-smart” in the Legal 500 directory.

Siobhan has previously undertaken a secondment to Oaktree Capital.

Education and qualifications

Siobhan studied law at Durham University.
