Linklaters advises Meridiam on its partnership with Carrefour for the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations in France

Linklaters has advised Meridiam, a long-term investor specializing in critical infrastructure, on the establishment of a partnership with the Carrefour Group for the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations at sites located in hypermarket parking lots operated by entities of the Carrefour Group in France. The project will provide a fast to ultra-fast charging service ranging from 50 kW to 350 kW, allowing for an "electric fill-up" of between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the vehicle.

The deployment of the charging stations will be carried out by the company EV Cars and is based on the creation of long-term leases for each site. Operational implementation will be carried out by entities of the Allego group, European leader in the deployment of charging hubs, which currently operates over 25,000 charging points.

This transaction follows several other large-scale transactions carried out by Meridiam and Allego as part of a pan-European deployment project for electric vehicle charging stations in which the Linklaters team was involved, in particular the financing of the Allego group, as well as other partnerships with major players in the retail, parking and hotel sectors.

The Linklaters team was led by Darko Adamovic, Partner, Aymeric Voisin, Managing Associate and Etienne Paletto, Associate for the partnership and project development aspects of the transaction, and Françoise Maigrot, Partner and Saadoun Alioua, Associate advised on the Real Estate aspects.
Carrefour was advised internally.
