Linklaters wins prestigious Derivatives Law Firm of the Year at the annual Risk Awards

Linklaters has been named “Law Firm of the Year” at the Risk Awards announced on 3 February 2021. The awards are the longest-running and one of the most respected awards for firms and individuals involved in the global derivatives markets and in risk management. Risk has recognised Linklaters for its cutting-edge practice and innovative work around the globe over the past year. In particular, Risk highlighted the global team’s work on:

  • the 2020 ISDA IBOR Fallback Protocol and Supplement which establishes new fallbacks for market standard derivatives documentation for a number of interbank offered rates, including LIBOR; and
  • the SPIRE multi-dealer platform, the first ever single-issuer, multi-dealer, repackaging programme. Since its establishment there has been significant market interest from investors in the Platform and issuance volumes have increased year on year as more investors have completed their onboarding processes.

The award is the latest in a quintet of derivatives accolades the firm has won for its ground-breaking work in 2020. Linklaters was also named “Global Law Firm of the Year” at the GlobalCapital Global Derivatives Awards; “Americas Law Firm of the Year” at GlobalCapital’s Americas Derivatives Awards; and “Derivatives Law Firm of the Year” at the Asia Risk Awards.

Deepak Sitlani, Derivatives partner at Linklaters, says:

“We are thrilled to have won the Risk ‘Law Firm of the Year’ award. It is a real recognition of the hard work of our amazing team across a spectrum of the products and geographies we cover. Of course it would not be possible without our fantastic clients whose trust and confidence in our team we value enormously.”
