Overview

Alice has been involved in some of key competition litigation cases before the CAT and High Court in recent years, including large-scale and class actions.

Work highlights

Her experience highlights include acting for:

  • Sucocitríco Cutrale LTDA and two of its officers: advising in their defence against a claim brought in the High Court by a large number of orange producers concerning alleged collusion in Brazil, including a high-profile jurisdiction challenge and subsequent challenges to the propriety of the claims.
  • Three: acting for the mobile network operator, in its defence of a collective action brought before the Competition Appeal Tribunal by a class representative alleging that Three abused its dominant position by over-charging certain customers who entered into combined contracts for handsets and airtime services, including advising in relation to parallel proceedings brought against other mobile network operators. 
  • Microsoft: acting in its defence of a collective action brought before the Competition Appeal Tribunal by a class representative alleging that Microsoft abused its dominant position via certain of its cloud licencing terms.
  • Visa: advising in relation to “standalone” proceedings brought by a global ATM operator alleging that rules relating to ATM fees were set in breach of Article 101 TFEU (and various domestic equivalent) in the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
  • Porsche: acting in relation to the competition aspects of several group actions brought in the High Court relating alleged collusion in the market for emissions technology.
  • A leading facilities management and professional services company: representing a company during a dawn raid conducted by the Competition and Markets Authority into a suspected breach of the Competition Act 1998.
 

Professional experience

Alice is passionate about social mobility. She is an active member of Linklaters’ Social Mobility Network Steering Committee and was nominated as a Rising Star in the 2021 UK Social Mobility Awards. Alice is also committed to ending the stigma around mental health awareness.

Education and qualifications

LLB Maîtrise in English law and French law at the University of Leicester / Université de Strasbourg (First / Mention Trés Bien)
