Overview

Amin is a Counsel in our investment funds practice in London and focuses on advising alternative investment funds, funds of funds and investors in respect of primary fund investments, secondary transactions, co-investments, managed accounts and joint ventures, and investment advisory and management arrangements primarily across the private equity and infrastructure sectors.

Amin has extensive experience negotiating, on both the mid and large cap GP and LP side, with sophisticated investors including sovereign wealth funds (including the Middle East and Asia), pension funds, insurance companies, financial institutions and family offices.

Work highlights

  • Ardian: advising on fundraising, investment management / advisory arrangements, managed accounts and co-investment arrangements in funds of funds, private equity, private debt/credit and infrastructure sectors.
  • Partners Group: advising on a broad range of matters relating to funds and their promotion and management, offering bespoke solutions and individual arrangements tailored along the specific needs of specific investors and investment vehicles.
  • Equitix: advising on the establishment of complex infrastructure co-investment structures and related carried interest arrangements and supporting due diligence and negotiations on direct and secondaries acquisitions.
  • A North American pension fund: advising on its investment into a European renewable energy platform including a stake in the corporate structure as well as seeding a new fund to acquire renewable energy development projects, and its subsequent primary and secondary investments into European funds.
  • Qatar Investment Authority: advising on large investments into private investment and co-investment funds.
  • Several mid cap (including Mid Europa V (€800m, including cornerstone investments from European development funds)) and large cap European fundraisings (including Apax IX (US$9bn), BC European Capital X (€7bn), CVC Capital Partners VII (€16bn and the largest private equity fund raised in Europe at that time)), establishing their sponsor co-investment and carried interest platforms, assisting with arrangements for a subscription line credit facilities and raising co-investment vehicles to participate in subsequent deals alongside the main funds.

Professional experience

Before joining Linklaters as a managing associate in 2019, Amin was a senior associate at a major US law firm in London. Amin was promoted to counsel in 2022.

Amin has also completed a six-month secondment at Ardian as part of the UK legal team.

Education and qualifications

Amin studied law at Cambridge University.
