Government to pursue dematerialisation of all shares

One of the stated benefits of Brexit was the freedom for the U.K. to decide its own laws. The Government is now turning its attention to what changes to make first and has published a policy paper. Alongside reforms to data protection rules in U.K. GDPR, a return of imperial measurements and the Crown stamp on pint glasses, the Government will consult on the dematerialisation of all shares, removing the need for physical share certificates.
