Linklaters further expands its employment law practice with leading specialist in occupational pension schemes

Linklaters continues to expand its successful employment law practice with René Döring, a nationally and internationally recognised expert in the field of occupational pensions. René will join Linklaters as a partner in the course of the year. Prior to joining Linklaters, René was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the Employment & Pensions practice for more than ten years.

René is one of the market-leading partners in employment law and is above all a recognised specialist in the area of occupational pension schemes. He focuses on advising companies on the design and amendment of pension schemes, the outsourcing of pension liabilities, as well as pension funds and other occupational pension providers, which is often complex and cross-disciplinary. In addition, Sunrise advises on employment law and pension law aspects in connection with transactions, restructurings and reorganisations and is an experienced litigator.

Andreas Steck, German Senior Partner at Linklaters, said:

"We are very pleased that with René we have been able to win over one of the absolutely leading occupational pension lawyers in the German market.
Not least in economically more difficult times for companies, the enormous importance of pension schemes becomes apparent. With René, we will strengthen and further expand our proven expertise in employment law by adding the area of pensions, which is important for our clients."

Matthew Devey, head of the German employment law practice, adds:

"With his comprehensive expertise and many years of experience, especially in the area of occupational pension schemes and restructuring, René is the perfect addition to our growing practice. With him, we now see ourselves even more optimally positioned to provide first-class advice on all facets of high-end employment law, both nationally and internationally."
