An-Sofie is a counsel in our Brussels Corporate and Finance group. She advises national and international clients on their M&A transactions, with particular expertise in private equity. She represented many private equity houses throughout the various aspects of the investment lifecycle (from acquisition, to add-ons and exit). She also specialises in management equity packages in the context of buy-outs, where she advised both sponsors and management. 

She has extensive experience advising corporate and institutional clients on their M&A, carve-outs, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.

She is highly regarded by clients for her solution-oriented and hands-on approach, project management and technical knowledge.

An-Sofie’s recent experience includes advising:

  • Gimv on its divestment of Hansea to DWS
  • Sofina on its investment in Nuxe and Drylock Technologies
  • Cobepa / Verlinvest on the divestment of Carrières du Hainaut to SigmaRoc
  • Gen II (Cobepa) on its acquisition of Quilvest Services Luxembourg

Before joining Linklaters An-Sofie’s experience included advising:

  • Waterland on various transactions, including the sale of Ipcom to Alpha Private Equity; the sale of Brouwerij Bosteels to ABInbev and the acquisition of United Petfood Producers
  • Kharis Capital on its agreement with Burger King regarding the mastor franchise rights in Italy, Poland, Greece and Romania; on the acquisition of Quick restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg; on the acquisition of a majority stake in the French restaurant chain O’Tacos and on the acquisition of Nordsee Holding
  • BNP Paribas Fortis on the sale of Nueva Condomina Murcia to Klépierre
  • Dovesco on the acquisition of Lansweeper
  • Gilde Buy-out Partners on the acquisition of Oystershell

Education and qualifications

An-Sofie holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of Ghent, an LL.M in Corporate and Financial Law from the London School of Economics and a master’s degree in Notary Studies from the University of Brussels.

She speaks Dutch, English and French.
