Overview

Anton is a real estate lawyer who has advised on transactions in Brussels and Luxembourg since 2001. He has headed Luxembourg’s downstream real estate practice since the beginning of 2015.

Anton advises on the full range of issues within real estate, including incorporation and sale and purchase of real estate companies or real estate assets, real estate financing, environmental and town planning matters, litigation and structuring of projects. Anton’s practice also incorporates general commercial and contract law, construction law, agency and distribution law and projects.

Work highlights

Among an extensive range of real estate transactions, Anton has advised:

  • Allianz: advising on the sale (through share deal) and financing of an important commercial real estate in Luxembourg of 4,500 sqm located in the heart of Luxembourg’s business district.
  • A Swiss asset manager: advising on the acquisition of all the shares in the company owning the Kubik building in Kirchberg.
  • Nomura Asset Management U.K. Limited: advising on the non-consensual appropriation and subsequent sale to Lone Star of the company owning the H2O building, a landmark office building located in the Cloche d'Or area.

Professional experience

Anton regularly speaks at local and international industry events, including the Meetincs annual Real Estate conference where he looked at “Commercial leases” and the IFE session on Real Estate in Luxembourg. Anton moderated Linklaters Luxembourg’s first Real Estate conference, gathering over 100 guests.

Anton provides pro bono legal support to a real estate fund sponsor, which plans to invest in social housing.

Education and qualifications

>Anton studied law at the Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis and at the UCL Catholic University of Louvain.

He speaks French, Dutch and English.
