Overview

Jason focuses his practice on advising private fund sponsors and asset managers in connection with all aspects of fund formation, operation, governance and compliance issues. He has vast experience with an array of alternative asset classes, including private equity funds, real estate funds, credit funds, venture capital funds, secondaries funds, energy and infrastructure funds, funds of funds and hedge funds, both domestically and internationally. Jason counsels fund sponsors with respect to portfolio investment acquisitions and dispositions, co-investments, joint ventures, seed arrangements, M&A transactions, spin-outs, fund restructurings and recapitalizations. His practice is global in nature, including representations throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Jason also regularly advises buyers and sellers on their secondary market transactions, including traditional portfolio sales, structured secondaries, stapled secondary offerings and other complex secondary transactions. In addition, he represents institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds and other alternative assets.

Jason has represented a diverse group of asset managers and institutional investors, including, among others, AIG Asset Management, Arcis Group, Centerbridge Partners, DRA Advisors, DuPont Capital Management, GE Asset Management (now State Street Global Advisors), Hemisfério Sul Investimentos, LCN Capital Partners, Portfolio Advisors, The Energy & Minerals Group, VCFA Group and Westport Capital Partners.

Education and qualifications

Jason received his B.S. from Cornell University and holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.
