Overview
Bec is a managing associate in our Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations team, with a particular focus on competition litigation and competition investigations and enforcement.
She advises on a wide range of contentious, regulatory and public law matters, with a particular focus on complex, high value competition litigation before the English courts and the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Before joining Linklaters, Bec worked for several years at the Competition and Markets Authority where she focussed on cartel litigation and antitrust and consumer law investigations. Prior to that, she worked at several leading law firms in London and Melbourne where she worked across a broad range of commercial litigation, public law and competition and consumer law investigations and disputes.
Work highlights
- Defending Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe Limited in its defence of a collective action alleging abuse of dominance relating to operation of a digital store.
- Advising Porsche on multiple sets of group litigation arising from the European Commission’s AdBlue decision.
- Defending Visa in thousands of complex, funded, group proceedings brought by major retailers in the CAT, who allege that multilateral interchange fees on card transactions were levied in breach of Article 101 and 102 TFEU and Chapters 1 and 2 of the UK Competition Act.
- Advising the UK Department for Transport as an intervener in multiple sets of collective proceedings in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, concerning allegations of abuse of dominance by train operating companies in fare-setting and sales practices.
Professional experience
Bec is a member of the department’s DEI Committee and is passionate about gender equality and ending the stigma around mental health.
Education and qualifications
Bec holds a Bachelor of Law (hons) and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University.
