Linklaters advised Intermarché on the notification of the acquisition of 61 Casino points of sale, which was cleared today

A Linklaters Antitrust and Foreign Investment team in Paris led by partner Anne Wachsmann advised Groupement Les Mousquetaires, one of France's largest retail groups, in relation with the notification of the acquisition of 61 Casino points of sale which was cleared today by the French Competition Authority.

After granting a derogation from the standstill obligation, the French Competition Authority cleared the transaction by a decision dated of 11 January 2024. 

The French Competition Authority considered that the divestment of points of sale was necessary in three catchment areas. 
Linklaters also advises Intermarché on merger control aspects in its proposed acquisition with Auchan Retail of 313 hypermarkets and supermarkets from Groupe Casino.
