Linklaters further bolsters Asia international arbitration offering with hire of Andrew Battisson

Linklaters announces that Andrew Battisson has joined the firm in Singapore as a partner in its leading global Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations practice. 

Andrew will lead the firm’s international arbitration practice in the Asia region including the Middle East and India, joining partners Jelita Pandjaitan and Rebecca James in Singapore and Justin Tang in Hong Kong. 

Andrew is a highly regarded senior international arbitration specialist with over 20 years of experience counselling clients in international commercial arbitration and investor-state arbitration before all the major arbitral institutions as well as representing clients in related enforcement and transnational litigation. He also regularly sits as arbitrator. Andrew has a particular focus on the energy and infrastructure, financial services, and telecommunications sectors. Andrew is an active member of the arbitration community, including as a member of the ICC Australia Nominations Commission and as an ACICA Fellow.

Andrew’s arrival further strengthens Linklaters’ international arbitration platform in Asia which has been substantially enhanced in the past year, with the promotions of Rebecca James to partner and Hansel Ng to counsel in Singapore, as well as the additions of partners Narendra Adiyasa in the firm’s formal association firm in Indonesia, Widyawan & Partners and Ellen Zhang in Linklaters’ China joint operation partner, Zhao Sheng Law Firm. The firm’s global international arbitration team now comprises over 40 partners and counsel, who act as counsel and as arbitrators in arbitral proceedings in seats throughout the world, including the key arbitration centres of Paris, London, Amsterdam, Geneva, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai and New York.
