The complementary practices of Peter and Angel on both the creditor and sponsor side of our business bolster our capabilities in this space and enhance our market leading private capital platform, advising clients on their most strategic acquisition financings across borders and asset classes.”

Linklaters’ Leveraged Finance practice is at the forefront of the market – ranked Band 1 in Chambers 2025 for Banking and Finance: Lenders, Band 2 for Banking and Finance: Sponsors, and Tier 1 for Acquisition Finance in Legal 500’s 2025 rankings. The firm’s top tier leveraged finance lawyers have expertise in all key products across the capital structure, working closely with the firm’s private capital practice to guide clients through acquisition structures. Linklaters was one of the first firms to fully integrate its US high yield lawyers into its leveraged finance practice, giving the firm the unique ability to deliver a full-service approach.

Over the past twelve months, the practice has advised investment banks, private credit funds and financial sponsors on the largest and most strategic leveraged buyout transactions in the market, navigated the refinancing and repricing waves and has been trusted by market participants to lead on some of the largest private to public TLB refinancing. In recent weeks, the team has re-opened the EUR syndicated TLB and high yield markets. The team has also continued to be a key player in the leveraged infrastructure market and the development of structured bespoke strategic capital solutions transactions.
