Overview
Julie is a counsel in the employment department. She has extensive experience advising on the employment law issues in large-scale, complex and often international corporate transactions in corporate and financial services sectors. She also regularly advises on corporate restructuring activities, including large-scale outsourcings. She advises employers on employment law issues for directors and senior employees including their appointment and termination.

Julie's experience includes:
- Advising BP International Limited on its acquisition of the 53.03% interest it does not already own in Lightsource bp, one of the world’s leading developers and operator of utility-scale solar and battery storage assets: in particular on arrangements with founders, carving out employees and businesses from the sale and secondment arrangements.
- Advising Spirent Communications plc on its c.£1.16bn recommended takeover offer from Keysight Technologies Inc.
- Advising on numerous outsourcing and change of contractor arrangements for clients including changes in pensions administration providers, IT and other professional services.
- Advising Vodafone on its strategic collaboration with IBM including the outsourcing of Vodafone’s cloud and hosting business.
- Advising Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited on the recommended acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Shire plc.
- Advising Novartis on its asset swap with GSK in relation to non-influenza vaccines, oncology and OTC, and the sale of its influenza vaccines business to CSL.
- Advising Macquarie on its £900m acquisition of SP Smart Meter Assets Limited (Iberdrola’s smart metering business in the UK) from Scottish Power.
