Overview

Angus is a partner in the London leveraged finance practice.

Angus represents underwriting banks and alternative capital providers on institutional financing transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged buyout, infrastructure and other acquisition financings. He also has experience advising on regulatory-driven and structured finance transactions, as well as restructurings.

Angus has completed extended secondments within the leveraged finance team at Goldman Sachs and the private credit group at PSP Investments, and was seconded for 18 months to the firm’s New York office, where he focussed on US and Latin American financings and restructurings.

Recent examples of Angus’s transactions include advising the finance parties on the following transactions:

  • KKR (Private equity): The acquisitions and/or refinancings of Masmovil / Euskaltel / Orange Espagne, GfK, Roompot / Awaze, Accell Group, PortAventura and Master Distancia (and various other bids)
  • KKR (Infra): The public takeover of John Laing and acquisitions of significant minority interests in Telxius and Reintel (and various other bids)
  • Brookfield: The public takeovers of alstria and Hibernia
  • Apax: Financings for ADCO (Toi Toi & Dixi) and Safety-Kleen.
  • Carlyle: The public takeover of Schaltbau
  • KPS: The acquisition of Real Alloys Europe by Speira
  • Bridgepoint: The acquisitions of Fenergo and a significant minority interest in ACT
  • A-KKR: The acquisitions of Kimble and Reapit
  • TDR: The public takeover by Stonegate of Ei Group plc
  • Advising junior creditors (2L, PIK and pref investors) on various sponsor-backed acquisition financings
