Overview

Marie is an associate in the Leveraged Finance team in London. Marie joined the Belgian banking practice of Linklaters in Brussels in 2017 and was seconded to the Leveraged Finance practice in the London office in October 2021 where she became a permanent member of the team in May 2021. She has experience in all aspects of financial law, with a particular focus on and expertise in general corporate lending and acquisition/leveraged finance transactions. In this context, Marie regularly works with financial institutions, credit funds, listed and unlisted corporates and private equity firms.

Work Highlights

Marie has advised on a wide range of major finance transactions. Marie’s recent transactions include advising:

  • Five Arrows in relation to a partial refinancing of the existing senior indebtedness for OGF SA with OTTP as sponsor by way of the issuance of PIK Notes.
  • Hg on their TLB financing for their acquisition of Pirum Systems.
  • Waterland Private Equity on their TLB financing for their acquisition of United Petfood Group.
  • A group of lenders and credit funds on the refinancing of the existing indebtedness (including acquisition debt) of RE Panels with THI Investments as sponsor.
  • Unifiedpost Group SA (listed on Euronext) in relation to new growth financing with combined debt and equity provided by funds managed by Francisco Partners to refinance certain existing debt and to finance future growth.

Education and qualifications

Marie holds a Master in Law from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) in Belgium. She also studied during six months at l’Université Paris-Sorbonne in the framework of the Erasmus Programme. Marie is a Belgian law qualified lawyer.

She works fluently in Dutch, French and English.
