Overview

Evgeniya is the Head of the Linklaters Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group for Russia & CIS. Evgeniya advises clients across the globe on market-leading and high-profile transactions as well as their day-to-day businesses.

Evgeniya has advised in a variety of industries, including energy and natural resources, healthcare, FMCG, technology and e-commerce, financial services and fintech, chemicals, industrials, utilities and infrastructure.

Evgeniya advises on general antitrust compliance as well as industry-specific antimonopoly and related issues, including anticompetitive agreements, unfair competition, violations in state tenders. She represents clients before the antitrust authority in antimonopoly and administrative cases, as well as in dawn raids and investigations.

Evgeniya has vast experience in securing merger control, natural monopoly, foreign investment and strategic investment clearances for transactions in various industries, as well as regulatory clearances required outside of Russia and the CIS. 

Evgeniya’s past experience also includes advising clients on a range of corporate/M&A and commercial issues, which adds to the expertise in advising on transaction and business (re)structuring from a competition or regulatory perspective.

Work highlights 
  • Linde/Praxair merger: advising Linde AG on its US$90bn merger-of-equals with Praxair, Inc., combining two of the leading industrial gas companies to create the largest industrial gas group in the world.
  • Acquisition of the Baimskaya project: advising KAZ Minerals on the US$900m acquisition of the Baimskaya copper and gold project in the Chukotka region of Russia, one of the world’s most significant undeveloped copper assets, from a consortium of Russian investors.
  • Sale of Uniper SE: advising E.ON SE on the spin-off of Uniper SE and the subsequent sale of its stake in Uniper SE to Fortum Corporation.
  • Novartis/GSK asset swap: advising Novartis on its inter-conditional asset swap with GSK, involving the acquisition of GSK’s oncology business, the sale of Novartis’ vaccines business (except influenza) and the creation of a joint venture in consumer health products.
  • Various Glencore projects: advising Glencore on various transactions and matters, including the sale of a stake in its agricultural business to Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and British Columbia Investment Management Corp. (bcIMC).

Professional experience

Evgeniya is a member of the Competition Experts Association and Evgeniya regularly participates in legislative initiatives and writing commentaries to Russian laws in the areas of her expertise.

Education and qualifications

Evgeniya studied law at the Moscow State University of Foreign Affairs (MGIMO).

She speaks Russian, English and conversational German.
