Mattis is specialised in M&A transactions and projects in the energy sector. Furthermore, he advises on regulation, renewable energies as well as on energy industry and contract law.

  • Octopus Renewables Infrastructure: advising on the acquisition of a portfolio consisting of 14 solar farms in France from Samsung Securities.
  • Kallista Energy: advising on the acquisition of a portfolio of operating renewable energy assets consisting of five wind farms and three solar farms in France and seven wind farms in Germany.
  • Windkraft Thüringen: advising on the acquisition of a wind turbine and infrastructure.
  • Enel X: advising on the envisaged disposal of operating battery energy storage system assets in Germany.
  • Investment company: advising on the planned acquisition of a stake in the French offshore wind park Fécamp from wpd.
  • Major manufacturer of photovoltaic solar cells: advising on the acquisition of an 80 MW photovoltaic project in Eastern Germany.
  • Developer and provider of energy solutions in the field of renewable energies: advising on the restructuring and sale of the global solar components trading business (over 20 countries) as part of a bidding process.
  • Industrial company: advising on the planned disposal of the infrastructure company of an industrial park, in particular on the structuring of the future media supply.
  • Financial holding company: advising on the acquisition of a 22.5% stake in the 288MW offshore wind farm “Butendiek” located in the German North Sea and on the formation of a 50-50 joint venture with a co-investor.
  • EDP Renováeis: Advising on the acquisition of 70% of the shares in the solar project developer Kronos Solar.
  • KfW: Advising on the investment into the LNG terminal project in Brunsbüttel.

Professional experience

Mattis started his career at Linklaters as an Associate in 2021.

Education and qualifications

Mattis studied law in Göttingen and Budapest. He was a trainee lawyer at Linklaters from May 2020 to January 2021.

He speaks German and English.
