Overview

Ellie is a Managing Associate in the London Corporate practice with transactional experience in private and public mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group reorganisations and corporate advisory work. Ellie has a particular interest in advising companies and funds within the technology and consumer sectors.

Work highlights

Ellie’s recent experience includes advising:

  • Carrier on:

    -the sale of its global access solutions business to Honeywell for $5bn

    -the sale of its industrial fire business to Sentinel Capital Partners for $1.4bn

    -the sale of its commercial refrigeration business to Haier for $775m
  • Visa on:

    -its £700m acquisition of Currency Cloud, a global platform that provides foreign exchange solutions for cross-border payments for banks and fintechs

    -its acquisition of Rambus Inc’s global tokenisation payments and ticketing technology business
  • PwC on the sale of its global mobility tax and immigration services business to CD&R for $2.2bn
  • Just Eat on its £9bn merger with Takeaway.com by way of a recommended share exchange takeover offer, and the successful defence against Naspers’ £5.5bn hostile cash takeover offer
  • Unilever on its £120bn cross-border merger to unify its dual-parent company legal structure under a single UK parent company and its listing of shares in London, Amsterdam and New York
  • Digital Colony Partners on the establishment of its AtlasEdge 50:50 joint venture with Liberty Global to commercialise European edge data centres
  • Brookfield on its proposed acquisition of Origin Energy's power generation and electricity retailing business as part of the joint AU$18.7bn takeover offer by Brookfield and EIG (whilst on secondment to Linklaters’ alliance firm Allens)
  • InfraRed Capital Partners and Northleaf Capital Partners on their acquisition of 80% of Vodafone New Zealand’s passive tower infrastructure business for NZ$1.7bn and the ongoing shareholder arrangements with Infratil (whilst on secondment to Linklaters’ alliance firm Allens)

Professional experience

Ellie spent a year on secondment to the Sydney office of Allens (Linklaters’ alliance partner firm in Australia) in the Mergers & Acquisitions department in 2022 and 2023.

In addition to her fee-earning work, Ellie also takes an active role in managing Warranty & Indemnity Insurance knowhow at Linklaters and has led training on this topic for clients and internally for a number of practice groups in the Linklaters London and Dubai offices.

Prior to joining the Linklaters Corporate team upon qualification in 2016, Ellie also spent time working in Linklaters’ Banking and Equity & Debt Markets practices in London and the Equity & Debt Markets practice in Singapore. 

Education and qualifications

Ellie holds a Law degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and completed the Accelerated Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Moorgate.
