Fabian has specialised experience in syndicated loans, acquisition financings and restructurings.

Work highlights

Transactions of significance where substantial involvement can be disclosed have included:

  • KfW IPEX-Bank: advising on financing for the construction of Europe's largest hinterland terminal "Duisburg Gateway Terminal" (DGT), which is considered a model project for the future of logistics and is to be operated in a climate-neutral manner.
  • Coordinators BNP Paribas, Citibank and Deutsche Bank: advising an international syndicate of lenders on a €8bn multi-currency revolving credit facility for BMW Group to refinance its existing multi-currency revolving credit facility agreement.
  • Continental: advising on its revolving credit facility of €4bn with several sustainability features (e.g. for renewable energy sources).
  • Commerzbank: advising on a revolving credit facility about €5bn with several sustainability components for the energy company RWE which was provided by Bank of America, Commerzbank, Société Générale and UniCredit as Underwriter.
  • Merck: advising on its new €2bn syndicated multicurrency revolving credit facility agreement. 
  • H.C. Starck Group: advising the senior lenders’ Ad Hoc Committee on the restructuring.
  • A Luxembourg based debt fund: advising as lender in relation to an acquisition by Ergon Capital Partners of the German based Sausalito's restaurant group, in relation to a secured unitranche and capital expenditure bond financing.
  • EMERAM Capital Partners: advising as sponsor for an acquisition of the German and Austria based Hussel group in relation to secured unitranche and super senior revolving credit facility.
     

Professional experience

Fabian joined Linklaters in 2013 and was appointed as Counsel in 2021.

Education and qualifications

Fabian studied law at the University of Gießen. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial Law from the University of Westminster in London.

He speaks German and English.
