Overview

Joanna is a corporate lawyer with particular expertise in UK public M&A. She also acts as an in-house technical expert, enabling our lawyers to provide the latest advice on legal, regulatory and market practice issues.

Joanna is an experienced author, writing client alerts, thought leadership and press commentary as well as contributing to legal textbooks.

Joanna represents the firm in discussions with industry bodies and regulators on developments that will affect our clients. Joanna is a member of the Joint Working Party of the Company Law Committees of the City of London Law Society and the Law Society of England and Wales.

Professional experience

Joanna has spent time in our Paris office and, during her career, has been on secondment to the finance and treasury team at Vodafone Group plc, as well as secondments to Old Mutual and to BP plc.

Joanna is a trustee of the Foundation Years Trust, the trust established by Frank Field MP to established to put into action the findings of his Independent Review on Poverty and Life Chances. The Foundation Years Trust is piloting a strategy which will help equalise life chances for all children before they start school.

Joanna is also a trustee of the Ambitious About Autism Schools Trust, a multi-academy trust, which set up the Rise School to enable children with autism and learning difficulties to access the national curriculum at approximately the same level as their peers.

Joanna studied Classics at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University.
