Consumer Duty Board Report Guidance

The FCA requires firms to prepare a report for their Board on Consumer Duty compliance at least annually. Firms are in the process of preparing their second annual report.

Our tailored offering helps firms to mitigate their regulatory risk and maximise the chance that their report meets the FCA’s expectations.

We have prepared a Guidance Document to help you assess whether your firm’s report is likely to meet regulatory expectations and benchmark whether it is aligned to industry standards. This brings together key aspects of the FCA’s most recent guidance and our insights from assisting firms with Consumer Duty compliance to provide a suggested approach to  Board reporting. It includes risk-based, practical suggestions that combines our market-leading legal expertise, knowledge of industry practice and understanding of the commercial challenges our clients face.

In addition, we are available to act as a “critical friend”, reviewing and providing impartial feedback on your report.

Our assistance is tiered as follows:

  • Access via a secure portal to our Consumer Duty Board Report Guidance Document.

This provides our insight on how to prepare the Board report. It is intended to assist internal business, legal and compliance teams to assess whether the Board report is compliant with regulatory expectations and to provide suggested content and structure. Access to the Guidance Document is available on request, contact us at the details below for more information on how to access it.
