Linklaters advises Biffa on takeover by Bears Bidco for £1.3bn

Linklaters has advised waste management company Biffa on its takeover by Bears Bidco Ltd., a firm controlled by funds operated by Energy Capital Partners (ECP), for £1.3bn.

Under the deal, accepting shareholders of Biffa will get 410 pence in cash for each share held. They will also be able to keep the final dividend of 4.69 pence a share.

This acquisition will enable Biffa to accelerate its growth to further solidify its market leading position. ECP is an experienced investor in environmental infrastructure and sustainability assets and is well positioned to support Biffa on its journey.

Biffa continues to be one of the UK leaders in sustainable waste management with a significant investment programme across UK green economy infrastructure. This acquisition further expands ECP’s portfolio of investment in energy transition and sustainability-focussed firms.
