Linklaters advises GoCardless on its proposed €1.1 billion acquisition by Mollie to create leading European bank payments platform

Linklaters is advising bank payment company GoCardless on its proposed acquisition by Mollie, one of Europe’s fastest-growing financial services providers, for €1.1 billion ($1.28 billion).

The combination will create a single payments provider serving more than 350,000 businesses, integrating card payments, local payment methods and bank payments into one unified solution. The new business will support merchants of all sizes from ambitious SMEs to large enterprises. Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected in mid-2026.
