Linklaters advises Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale and TARGO Deutschland Financial Holding Group on the acquisition of 100 % of German bank Oldenburgische Landesbank (OLB).
Upon completion of the transaction, OLB is to become part of the TARGO Deutschland Financial Holding Group, like TARGOBANK AG. The acquisition is a fundamental step in Credit Mutuel Group's overall strategy to substantially expand its German business. In terms of assets, the consolidated German group will become the tenth largest bank in Germany after the transaction is completed, with a comprehensive offering for corporate and private customers.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the regulatory authorities, in particular the European Central Bank (ECB) and the competition authorities.
