Linklaters has hired Marc Lordonnois as a partner in its Public Law and Regulatory practice in Paris.
Marc specialises in public law, with a particular focus on infrastructure, energy and regulated sectors. He has more than 25 years of experience advising on acquisitions, disposals and projects, and his expertise covers public contracts (concessions, PPPs and procurement contracts) as well as regulatory matters in the transport (rail, road), energy and telecommunications sectors.
Marc has built a strong track record advising private sector clients on their most strategic transactions, including leading listed French industrial groups, major operators in the telecommunications and energy sectors, flagship infrastructure funds and institutional investors. He also acts for the French State and its agencies on privatisations, IPOs and major State aid grants – an experience that gives him a unique insight on matters involving public entities, strategic industries or regulators. He is ranked as a leading lawyer in Public Law and Foreign Investment by Chambers.
Marc’s arrival reflects the continued strengthening of our public law and regulatory capability in Paris and globally, following the recruitment of Fanny Mahler. Alongside Fanny, Marc will build a market leading team supporting the firm’s M&A and Energy & Infrastructure practices, advising on the full spectrum of public law and regulatory matters, particularly in regulated sectors and on strategic transactions involving public entities and foreign investment into France.
His arrival also follows a series of high-profile recruitments in Paris, including Pierre-Arnoux Mayoly and Shirin Deyhim as Leveraged Finance partners, François Kopf, Linklaters’ Global Chair of Restructuring and Insolvency, Mathieu Della Vittoria, Restructuring and Insolvency partner, as well as Marc Perrone, Financial Regulation partner, Hubert Segain, Head of Linklaters’ Corporate/M&A practice in Paris, and previously Florent Mazeron, Corporate/Private Equity partner.
Françoise Maigrot, National Managing Partner in Paris, added: “Marc’s arrival is part of the strong momentum that has been driving our office for several years now. Following the recruitment of Fanny Mahler, welcoming a figure as widely recognised as Marc further strengthens our positioning in public law and regulatory work and enhances our ability to support our M&A and Private Capital clients, particularly in regulated sectors where regulatory considerations are decisive”
Hubert Segain, Head of the Corporate/M&A practice in Paris, said: "Marc’s expertise is highly complementary to our corporate practice. His deep knowledge of public contracts, state-owned companies and privatisations, regulated sectors and FDI will be a tremendous asset to support our clients on their most strategic transactions. At a time when Europe is rethinking its regulatory framework, having a partner of Marc’s calibre is a significant strategic advantage for our clients navigating these decisive shifts.”
