The World Humanitarian Summit Secretariat engaged our International Governance and Development Practices (IGDP) to provide expert good governance input and support on a consultation process and Synthesis Report generating transformative ideas for improving and re-shaping humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable people affected by conflicts. IGDP also provided other support during the WHS process, including as a member of the Regional Steering Group for the ‘Europe and Others’ consultation; drafter of the 'Europe and Others’ region stakeholder analysis; and as facilitator of ongoing projects on Islamic finance and private sector outreach.
For the past five years, Linklaters has organised the ‘Advancing Good Governance in International Development’ seminar, in partnership with Camfed International, the Oxford Department of International Development and the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Oxford's Saïd Business School. The seminar brings together thought leaders and practitioners from the academic, donor, microfinance, NGO, social entrepreneurial, government and private sector communities to identify timely issues in international development and how good governance can work to address these.
We are delighted to be part of Impact 2030, an initiative which ‘in collaboration with the United Nations, civil society, academia and other stakeholders, is leveraging human capital investments through employee volunteer programmes globally to advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’. Linklaters has a long history of impactful volunteering by its people and we look forward to working with the group to share our belief that professional skills and experience can make a material difference in addressing the challenges that the SDGs present. |
