Vasudha works on the U.S. federal income tax aspects of domestic and cross-border private equity transactions, capital markets transactions, bank financings, debt and equity offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. Vasudha also advises domestic and multinational clients in connection with fund formation and operations, partnerships, real estate, FATCA and exempt-organization issues.
Prior to joining Linklaters, Vasudha worked as a manager at a Big 4 accounting firm and advised investment funds and investors, including tax-exempt investors and sovereign wealth funds, on the tax issues applicable to them, such as FIRPTA, REIT, UBTI and PFIC. Vasudha also advised multinational companies on the international tax issues that may arise on their cross-border reorganizations, including Subpart F, GILTI, FTC and foreign exchange gains.
Education and qualifications
Vasudha holds a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Christ University, India, and a Masters of Law from Harvard Law School.
Vasudha is fluent in English, Hindi and Tamil.
