We advised AG Insurance, Belfius Bank, Federale Verzekering, and KBC Bank as lenders to the SPI.R0 consortium. This consortium, comprised of Jan De Nul, Willemen, Aclagro, TINC, and De Werkvennootschap (the Flemish Region's agency for major infrastructure projects), is undertaking the significant €370m project of redeveloping the Brussels' ring road intersection near Brussels Airport. The project aims to transform this critical junction into a safer and more efficient "Single Point Interchange" featuring adaptive traffic lights, enhanced green spaces, water features, and improved bicycle infrastructure.

This redevelopment project marks the second major road infrastructure initiative Linklaters has been advising on recently, following our involvement in the R4 project. This is another great milestone for our Energy and Infrastructure team, proving extensive expertise and commitment to large-scale infrastructure developments that contribute to safer and more sustainable urban environments.

Our cross-practice Energy and Infrastructure team included Laurens Cools, Emma Merchiers, Maurice Demeyer, Melissa Verplancke, Henri Boone, David Ballegeer and Sören Vandeweyer. The wider team included lawyers from our Real Estate, Tax, Litigation Arbitration and Investigation teams.
