Linklaters advised Acacia, an independent French platform specialising in the development, financing, construction and operation of electricity storage projects and grid connection infrastructure, on all key aspects of the financing and capacity optimisation of a portfolio of two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects with an aggregate capacity of 200 MW / 400 MWh in France.
The senior financing was provided by a pool of lenders comprising La Banque Postale, BNP Paribas, BNP Paribas Asset Management et LBP AM.
Located in the Hauts-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire regions, these projects, which are scheduled to be commissioned in early 2027, follow Eren Industries’ acquisition of a stake in Acacia in 2025 as shareholder and strategic partner. These projects form an integral part of Acacia’s development strategy and contribute to its position as a leading player in storage and grid infrastructure in France.
The Linklaters team was led by Samuel Bordeleau, Partner, supported by Soraya Salem, Counsel, with Farah Guedouar and Sinthia Monirul, Associates, in Energy & Infrastructure. Cyril Boussion, Partner, and Leïla Megdoud, Counsel, advised on the tax aspects.
