Linklaters has delivered an exceptional global M&A performance in the first half of 2026, advising on US$193.4bn of announced transactions worldwide, compared with US$56.7bn in H1 2025.
This represents an increase of more than 240% year-on-year and reflects the continued confidence clients place in the firm to deliver market leading advice on their most strategic, cross-border, high stakes transactions.
This increase in deal value has helped drive an excellent set of results across major global rankings:
In the first half of the year, Linklaters has advised on transformational transactions for clients:
Global Head of Corporate Simon Branigan said: “The value of transactions we advised on increased by more than 240% in the first half of the year, reflecting the confidence clients place in Linklaters to support their most important strategic transactions.
Our strong performance comes against a backdrop of record global M&A activity. Worldwide announced M&A activity increased by 50% year-on-year to an all-time high, and there has been a significant resurgence in European dealmaking.
We expect these trends to continue, particularly in areas where our integrated global platform, deep sector expertise and cross-border capabilities are particularly valued by clients. Our ability to advise on complex cross-border matters and our strength in sectors driving deal activity globally – including technology, industrials and energy – is a significant driver of future growth.
We are grateful for our clients’ continued trust and look forward to continuing to support them on their most ambitious and transformational mandates.”
