Linklaters advises Takeda on disposal of European antacid business

Linklaters has advised longstanding client Takeda on the successful disposal of its European antacid products to DOC Pharma. The antacid portfolio includes Riopan, an established antacid brand indicated for the symptomatic treatment of conditions related to gastric acidity. The disposal forms part of Takeda’s ongoing strategy to optimise its portfolio and focus on its core therapeutic areas. 

Takeda’s in-house legal team was led by Antonio Toma, Head Global Business Development counsel, and Alessandro Piga, Lead Global Business Development counsel. 

The international cross-practice Linklaters team was led by M&A Partners Aisling Zarraga and Nicole Meyer, Commercial Partner Georgie Kon, AFIG Partner Annamaria Mangiaracina and Regulatory Partner Jana Hager.

The transaction was signed in March 2026 and completed at the end of May 2026.
