Adeel Mangi Named Attorney of the Year by Law.com and New Jersey Law Journal
Linklaters is proud to announce that Adeel Mangi, Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations Partner and Chair of the Trial Practice, has been named Attorney of the Year by Law.com and New Jersey Law Journal. The honor was presented at the New Jersey Legal Awards on October 30, 2025, recognizing Adeel’s outstanding achievements and exceptional leadership in the U.S. litigation field over the past year and the “the strength and grace he exhibited” during this nomination to the Third Circuit.
Adeel is widely regarded as one of the country’s leading trial lawyers, with a remarkable record handling high-stakes commercial disputes in state and federal courts. He is currently representing Appian Corporation in its effort before the Supreme Court of Virginia to reinstate a $2 billion judgment for willful and malicious trade secret misappropriation—the largest jury verdict in Virginia’s history, won by Adeel and his team. He also leads Linklaters’ representation of Johnson & Johnson in a variety of complex litigations, including one of the most closely watched lawsuits in the health insurance field.
This Attorney of the Year honor is the latest in a series of distinctions for Adeel, who was also recently named to Forbes’ inaugural America’s Top Lawyers list and recognized for the fourth consecutive year in Benchmark Litigation’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers and Litigation Stars lists.
Beyond his commercial work, Adeel is a leading advocate for pro bono work. He has achieved precedent-setting settlements supporting religious freedom, including successful outcomes for two Muslim communities in New Jersey denied permission to build houses and worship, and has secured a landmark settlement following a high-profile inmate death and resulting trial in New York.
In 2024, Adeel was nominated by President Biden to the United States Court of Appeal for the Third Circuit—the first Muslim-American to be considered for a federal circuit court judgeship.
Adeel joined Linklaters in January 2025 as part of an elite 11-lawyer trial team from a leading New York litigation firm. His arrival represented a significant milestone in the firm’s transformation of its U.S. practice into a premier disputes and transactional powerhouse, anchored by one of the world’s strongest global legal platforms. Today, Linklaters’ nationally recognized commercial litigation and trial team, market-leading white collar defense group, and top-tier international arbitration practice operate as part of a 400-person litigation, arbitration and investigations team spanning the globe.
This strategic growth has produced outstanding results over the past year, with the U.S. practice achieving a 57 percent increase in profit, welcoming 13 lateral partners, and advising on several high-profile mandates for major corporations, investment banks, funds and financial sponsors. Most recently, the firm’s achievements have been recognized by nominations for Law.com and The American Lawyer’s U.S. Impact Law Firm of the Year award, as well as the Attorney of the Year for New York (recognizing Linklaters Partner Muhammad Faridi), with winners to be announced in November.
