Linklaters appoints Julian Cunningham-Day as Global Practice Head of TMT/IP

Linklaters has appointed Julian Cunningham-Day as Global Practice Head of Technology, Media and Telecoms/Intellectual Property (TMT/IP).
Julian is a TMT partner in the London office, one of the firm’s Global Tech Sector Leaders, and Co-Head of Fintech and Telecoms. His appointment took effect on 1 January 2026.
Julian succeeds Julia Schönbohm, who has completed her four-year term. Julia will continue to lead Linklaters’ IP practice in Germany and will remain a key member of the global TMT/IP leadership team.
Julian’s practice covers commercial and regulatory technology, fintech and telecoms, as well as all aspects of data governance, outsourcing and complex services arrangements. He has deep experience in highly regulated sectors, including telecoms, financial and professional services. Julian has advised on ground breaking technological developments in regulated industries for over 25 years and on some of the largest and most innovative outsourcing transactions worldwide.
