Overview
Jason is the Global Chair of the Firm’s Equities Practice and has led the teams on many of the firm's most complex cross-border corporate finance transactions. He has particular expertise advising clients listing in the UK, Western Europe and the GCC, where he has spent almost 20 years acting for clients on government and private/founder led transactions in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and the KSA.
Jason's experience spans many industry sectors, particularly fintech, telecolms, financial services, consumer and industrials.
Jason is listed as a Leading Lawyer in key industry publications, including Band 1 in Chambers UK, Chambers Europe and Chambers Global, as well as Chambers Middle East, Legal 500 (Hall of Fame) and IFLR 1000 (Market Leader).
Experience
Recent experience includes advising:
- Ooredoo and ADIA as selling shareholder in connection with the $575 million sale of Ooredoo shares, the first fully marketed public secondary offering of shares in Qatar
- Dubai Holdings (selling shareholder) and Dubai Residential REIT on its $3.9 billion IPO and listing on the Dubai Financial Market, the first listing of a REIT under the UAE’s new REIT regulations
- du in connection with the approximately $870 million sale of its shares by Mubadala, the first fully marketed public secondary offering of shares in the UAE.
- the underwriters on the $1.9 billion IPO of ALEC Holdings and its listing on the Dubai Financial Market.
- Asyad Shipping Company and Asyad Group in connection with the $1.6 billion IPO by way of partial privatisation of Asyad Shipping Company and its listing on the Muscat Stock Exchange
- the underwriters on the IPO of Spinneys and listing on the DFM
- OQ Base Industries and OQ S.A.O.C on the IPO by way of partial privatisation of OQ Base Industries and listing on the Muscat Stock Exchange
- OQ Exploration & Production and OQ S.A.O.C. on the IPO by way of partial privatisation of OQ Exploration & Production and listing on the Muscat Stock Exchange
- the underwriters in connection with the IPO of OQ Gas Networks on the Muscat Stock Exchange.
- Raspberry Pi Holdings Plc on its IPO and listing on the Premium segment of the London Stock Exchange
- Abraj Energy Services and OQ on Abraj's privatisation by way of IPO and listing on the Muscat Stock Exchange, and the underwriters on the privatisation, IPO and listing of OQ Gas Networks on the Muscat Stock Exchange
- e& on its $400m investment in exchange for a majority stake in Careem's Super App
