Overview

Aedamar Comiskey is Linklaters’ Senior Partner and Chair. She was elected in May 2021 and her term was extended by a further four years in June 2025. She is the first woman to hold this role in the firm’s history. Before she became Senior Partner, Aedamar was the Global Head of Corporate for five years and managed the firm’s M&A and specialist corporate groups around the world. She was also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Aedamar is recognised as a leading public and private M&A lawyer. During her time in the firm’s corporate practice, she advised on some of the most significant and transformational deals in the market and continues to lead the firm’s relationships with many FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, for whom she is a trusted board adviser. Aedamar has also held a number of board roles herself for international companies.

  • Advised Unilever on its defence of the US$145bn approach by the Kraft Heinz Company, one of the largest proposed deals in history
  • Advised Visa Europe on its €18.4bn sale to Visa Inc
  • Advised HSBC on the US$5.2bn sale of its Brazilian business to Banco Bradesco, the largest financial services deal in South America to date
  • Advised G4S on the recommended £3.8bn cash offer by Allied Universal and its defence of the hostile £3.68bn cash offer by Garda World
  • Advised Amec Foster Wheeler on its recommended £2.3bn takeover by John Wood Group
  • Advised Dixons on its £4bn merger with Carphone Warehouse
  • Advised Amlin on the £3.48bn recommended offer by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance
  • Advised Capita on its £701m rights issue
