Emily studied law at King’s College London.
Emily is responsible for knowledge and learning in the Investment Funds team at Linklaters and develops and implements the team’s internal and client-facing knowledge and learning strategy.
Emily is an experienced author, writing thought leadership pieces, client alerts on legal developments, and articles for various publications. She is a knowledgeable presenter and manages the technical legal training of the firm’s Investment Funds lawyers. Emily also takes a keen interest in innovation and efficiency, with a particular focus on legal tech solutions for our team and clients, including leading on the design and creation of MFNiQ, and ensuring we use the right technology and processes to deliver best-in-class legal advice.
She takes an active role in the industry and represents the firm in discussions with industry bodies, regulators and the government on developments that will affect our clients. Emily is the chair of the European Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (INREV) Public Affairs Committee, having previously been member of the committee from 2022 to 2024. Emily led a joint response of over 20 law firms to a UK government consultation on limited partnership law which created the UK private fund limited partnership and continues to work with the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) on ongoing limited partnership law reform. Emily has also been part of the task forces contributing to the Invest Europe response to the AIFMD II consultation. She also regularly participates in an informal network of City investment fund knowledge lawyers.
As a practitioner at Linklaters prior to her current role, Emily spent many years advising fund sponsors on various aspects of their operations, structures, fundraises, joint venture/club deals and family office arrangements across a number of asset classes. Emily also advised institutional investors on their investments in funds and acted on large regulatory change projects, such as the implementation of AIFMD.
