Overview

Jacqueline is a Solicitor-Advocate with extensive experience of international arbitration and cross-border commercial disputes. She has conducted ad hoc and institutional arbitrations under all major arbitral institutional rules (including the ICC, LCIA, SIAC and UNCITRAL rules) in cases arising from all major industry sectors, in particular energy, construction and financial services.

Jacqueline acts as counsel in High Court litigation, often in connection with arbitral proceedings. Her experience includes acting in post-award enforcement and nullification actions, enforcement proceedings in multiple jurisdictions and complex commercial litigation disputes.

Jacqueline has repeatedly been named as a “Rising Star” for International Arbitration in a leading legal directory and has been recognised as One to Watch in the Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom for International Arbitration. She has also lectured on public international law and international arbitration at Queen Mary University of London.

Acting for a UK bank in a dispute against the subsidiary of a Middle-Eastern sovereign wealth fund arising from an alleged fraud on the sale of shares (SIAC arbitration, Singapore seat)
Acting for a Russian bank in a dispute against a Swiss oil trader arising from the financing of a Siberian oil refinery (LCIA Arbitration, London seat)
Recent international law experience includes: acting for a sovereign State in relation to interim measures imposed by the European Court of Human Rights, advising a Bahaman entity in an oil supply dispute against the Government of Eritrea, and advising JPMorgan in High Court proceedings against the Berlin State Transport Authority.

Jacqueline is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Jacqueline is a member of the LCIA, ICCA and ArbitralWomen, and is also a member of the LCIA EDI Steering Group.

As a junior associate, Jacqueline worked as a Judicial Assistant for Sir Malcom Pill (then Lord Justice Pill) in the Court of Appeal of England and Wales.

Education and Qualifications

Jacqueline obtained her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She also holds an LLM in Arbitration and Public International Law from the LSE.

Jacqueline is a qualified Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience. She is admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales (non-practicing) and in the UK (England & Wales).
