Geesa de Vries is a Counsel in Linklaters' Corporate practice in Düsseldorf. She advises domestic and international clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, capital markets, and corporate governance. She also represents clients in corporate disputes.
Her experience spans some of the most significant transactions in the German market. She advised E.ON on its acquisition of Innogy SE and the extensive exchange of assets and shareholdings between E.ON and RWE — one of the largest corporate restructurings in the European energy sector. She advised thyssenkrupp on its planned joint venture with Tata Steel covering the European steel operations of both groups, on the planned separation of the thyssenkrupp group, and on preparations for the IPOs of thyssenkrupp nucera and TKMS. She also represented Sal. Oppenheim in proceedings relating to corporate liability of management board members.
Geesa de Vries is a top attorney recognized by Handelsblatt and Best Lawyers in the practice areas of Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions Law since 2023 as “Ones to Watch” and “Lawyers of the Future”.
Geesa joined Linklaters in 2015 and was promoted to Counsel in 2026. She studied law at the University of Potsdam and completed her doctorate at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. She holds a Maîtrise en droit from Paris X (Nanterre) and speaks German, English, and French.
