Overview
Sean is a counsel in Linklaters’ Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations group. Sean focuses on white-collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and advising on cross-border regulatory compliance. Sean regularly advises clients on a broad array of issues, including U.S. economic sanctions, anti-boycott laws, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the False Claims Act, securities enforcement, and anti-money laundering laws. Sean also frequently advises clients on developing and implementing corporate compliance programs and in conducting pre-acquisition due diligence.
Sean has a solutions-driven approach, and has experience advising multinational clients across a wide range of industries, including financial sponsors, financial services, energy, mining, life sciences and healthcare.

- Leading U.S. private equity firm: advising on pre-acquisition U.S. economic sanctions violations and self-disclosure to OFAC by a target company.
- U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation: representing a subject.
- Worldwide embezzlement, fraud and money laundering investigation: advising a state-owned central bank as lead U.S. counsel.
- DOJ FCPA and multijurisdictional bribery investigation: defending a global publicly-traded company.
- Fortune 50 company: counseling on possible FCPA and AML exposure relating to an agent’s conduct, and revising corporate policies to improve the compliance function.
- Major foodservice and retail technologies company: assisting on compliance with international sanctions regimes, implementing sanctions and anti-corruption compliance policies, and directing pre-acquisition corruption and sanctions due diligence.
