Overview
Mariusz is a managing associate in the Investment Funds practice in Luxembourg. He advises major international asset managers on the full life cycle of their investment funds, from initial structuring and launch, through ongoing operations and regulatory compliance, to restructurings and wind-downs. His key area of expertise is alternative investment funds, in particular real estate, private equity, private credit and infrastructure strategies.
Mariusz is an industry expert on accessing private wealth for alternative funds such as semi-liquid and evergreen funds, ELTIFs, access funds, tech platform solutions and alternative distribution networks.
He regularly supports clients on fund structuring, governance and cross-border distribution, as well as on day-to-day regulatory and compliance issues.
Mariusz has completed secondments with a leading real estate investment manager and with the Investment Funds practice in Linklaters’ London office, giving him a strong understanding of both sponsor and private practice perspectives.
Experience
- EQT: advising on the series of funds forming the EQT’s Nexus platform, including the set-up and launch of their first ELTIF. The ELTIF is an extension of EQT’s evergreen product suite and aims to broaden access to private markets, with investments spanning healthcare, technology, and services across Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
- Carlyle: advising on the series of their private wealth funds, including establishment of their first ELTIF, an open-ended credit fund; and their private equity semi-liquid fund targeting, among others, wealth and retail investors.
- CBRE Investment Management: advising on the restructuring of CBRE Global Alpha Fund, one of its flagship specialised investment funds, including the creation of a series of parallel vehicles and enhancements to the underlying holding structure.
- One of the world's largest private equity firms based in the Nordics: advising on the structuring, formation and first closing of a private equity fund focused on Asia. The fund structure consists of several alternative investment fund vehicles with a target size of US$12.5bn.
- A leading tech platform and access fund provider – assistance with the launch, legal, regulatory and practical aspects of the platform operations, the structuring of a number of closed- and open-ended vehicles that invest in or co-invest alongside major institutional funds across all strategies and asset classes.
