Shruti leads the firm’s US intellectual property transactions practice. She advises on the intellectual property and technology aspects of complex corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, venture investments and financing transactions, both domestic and cross border.
Shruti has significant experience across a broad range of sectors, including Technology, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Media and Entertainment, Automotive, Consumer, Chemicals and Manufacturing. Her clients include public and private companies, private equity funds and high growth start ups, who rely on her to identify, assess and allocate intellectual property and technology risks in high value deals.
Shruti has expertise in the development, licensing, transfer and commercialization of intellectual property, technology and data assets, and regularly advises on collaboration and strategic partnering arrangements. She frequently counsel’s clients on issues involving emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, helping them translate complex technical and regulatory considerations into practical, transaction ready solutions.
Shruti is recognised in the market as a rising leader in intellectual property and is actively involved in professional organisations focused on intellectual property, transactions and diversity, giving her a broad, forward looking perspective on how innovation and regulation shape dealmaking.
Shruti currently serves as Chair of the Business and Trade Division of the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section, overseeing the IP Transactions and Licensing Committee, In-House IP Committee, International Trade Committee and Monetization and Valuation of IP Committee, among others. She has been reappointed to the Continuing Legal Education Board for the Intellectual Property Law Section and has previously served as Chair of the Section’s Young Lawyer Fellows Selection Committee and Young Lawyers Action Group, as well as on its Nominating Committee and Membership Committee.
Shruti is a member of the Board of Trustees of the IP Law Foundation, which focuses on increasing diversity in the legal profession. Shruti was a 2022 Fellow in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) program and currently serves as the New York City Chapter Co-Lead for LCLD.
Shruti also sits on the Licensing Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association and is a member of the South Asian Bar Association of New York, the Asian American Bar Association of New York and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).
Shruti maintains an active pro bono practice, advising low-income entrepreneurs and start-ups on transactional matters.
Shruti has been recognised as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers (published by Thomson Reuters) in every year from 2018 through 2025 and was recognized as a “500 X – The Next Generation” lawyer by Lawdragon in 2025. She was named a Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) Rising Star in 2025 and received the Emerging Leaders Award from The M&A Advisor in the same year. In 2025, she was also shortlisted for the North America: Intellectual Property Rising Star category at the Women in Business Law Awards.
Shruti was a Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity in 2022 and received the Leadership Recognition Award from the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section in 2022. She previously served as a Young Lawyer Fellow in the Section of Intellectual Property Law of the American Bar Association from 2018 to 2021.
