My practice covers a broad range of bond issuances, including senior debt, hybrid bonds, regulatory capital for financial institutions, environmental, social and governance bonds, and commercial paper, as well as liability management exercises, stock exchange listings and post-listing obligations. I also advise on German law registered bonds and assignable loans. I am known for delivering clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice on complex financing transactions, helping clients navigate both execution risk and regulatory requirements efficiently.

Overview

Wolfgang is Counsel in the Capital Markets practice in Frankfurt am Main. He specialises in advising issuers and syndicate banks on domestic and international bond issuances, including senior debt, hybrid bonds, regulatory capital for financial institutions, ESG bonds and commercial paper programmes. He also advises on liability management transactions, stock exchange listings and post-listing obligations, as well as on the issuance of German law registered bonds (Namensschuldverschreibungen) and assignable loans (Schuldscheindarlehen). 

Wolfgang joined Linklaters in 2024 and was appointed Counsel in 2025. He is a member of the Frankfurt and the New York Bar Associations.

  • SAP: advising the Bookrunners on the issuance of €3.5bn Bonds.
  • EWE: advising the Arranger and Dealers on the update of the €750m Euro Commercial Paper Programme.
  • Südzucker: advising the company on various transactions, including:
    • the issuance of €400m Bonds,
    • the tender offer to the noteholders of the outstanding €400m sustainability-linked Bonds.
  • TenneT: advising on the update of the €35bn Debt Issuance Programme.
  • Amprion: advising the company on various transactions, including:
    • the update of the €25bn Debt Issuance Programme,
    • the issuance of €1bn Green Subordinated Bonds.
  • HOCHTIEF: advising the company on various transactions, including:
    • the issuance of €650m new bond issue and on €250m increase of outstanding bonds,
    • the update of the €4bn Debt Issuance Programme.
  • Siemens: advising the Arranger and Dealers on the update of the €35bn Programme for the Issuance of Debt Instruments.
  • Deutsche Lufthansa: advising the Bookrunners on the issuance of €500m Subordinated Bonds.
