Overview

Aedamar Comiskey is Linklaters’ Senior Partner and Chair. She was elected in May 2021 and her term was extended by a further four years in June 2025. She is the first woman to hold this role in the firm’s history. Before she became Senior Partner, Aedamar was the Global Head of Corporate for five years and managed the firm’s M&A and specialist corporate groups around the world. She was also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Aedamar is recognised as a leading public and private M&A lawyer. During her time in the firm’s corporate practice, she advised on some of the most significant and transformational deals in the market and continues to lead the firm’s relationships with many FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, for whom she is a trusted board adviser. Aedamar has also held a number of board roles herself for international companies.

Beyond the Office

Aedamar is extremely committed to developing talent. She is very involved in shaping the firm’s development programmes to ensure that everyone has opportunities to develop and meet their full potential. Aedamar is also very active in promoting inclusive leadership in forums within and outside Linklaters.

In September 2025 Aedamar was appointed as a non-executive director at Babcock International Group plc where she sits on the Board’s Nominations, Audit, and Remuneration committees. From 2014 to 2024, she was a non-executive director at James Fisher and Sons plc, where she was chair of the Remuneration Committee from 2018 and Senior Independent Director from 2019.

Aedamar is also a Trustee of Tommy’s, a pregnancy and baby loss charity.

Recognition

Aedamar is recognised by Financial News as one of the Fifty Most Influential Lawyers 2025, and amongst the 100 Most Influential Women in European Finance 2025.

She has also been recognised by Financial News as one of the top 100 Women in Finance 2024 and as one of the Most Influential in European Finance 2024, as well as one of City A.M.’s Power 100 Women’s List and as a Leading M&A Lawyer in The Lawyer magazine’s Hot 100 ranking.
