Overview
Akaash has experience advising governments, government owned corporations and multinational energy companies deliver major energy and infrastructure projects. His practice focuses on complex construction and infrastructure documentation alongside LNG offtake and trading arrangements, enabling him to advise seamlessly across both project development and commercial execution. Akaash advises on transactions across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle-East, with particular depth in cross-border LNG transactions involving Asian and European buyers and Middle-Eastern sellers.
In 2025, Akaash spent seven months on client secondment with QatarEnergy Trading, where he acted as legal counsel on LNG trading and SPA negotiations. This included advising on several LNG trading transactions and leading the development of standard form trading documentation for use across transactions in multiple markets.
Before joining Linklaters in Singapore, Akaash practised with leading international and national firms in Australia and Singapore, advising on major infrastructure, energy and renewable projects. Akaash has acted for sponsors, project companies, government entities and traders on first of their kind LNG import terminals (including FSRU-based import terminals), short- and long term LNG supply arrangements and market leading transmission and transport infrastructure projects.
Experience
- Spanish contractor, COBRA INSTALACIONES Y SERVICIOS: advising on its role in the ACE Energy Consortium in relation to the development, construction and maintenance of transmission infrastructure in the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. This project was a first-of-its-kind transmission project in New South Wales, Australia – awarded the Asia Pacific Power Deal of the Year by PFI Awards 2025.
- QatarEnergy Trading: advising in connection with the negotiation and drafting of more than 10 MSPAs and SPAs with a number of major buyers from Spain, Japan, Germany, China, Vietnam, Korea, South America and the Middle East, including development of a standard form MSPA and DES SPA for use across LNG transactions.
- ADNOC Gas: advising on the drafting and negotiation of a series of long-term DES LNG SPAs from the Ruwais LNG project with buyers across North Asia and Europe. Ruwais LNG will be the world’s first LNG export facility powered by clean energy, setting a new benchmark for lower carbon LNG supply.
- Singapore LNG (SLNG): advising on all FSRU-related aspects of its landmark offshore LNG import project in Singapore. The project marks a first-of-its-kind FSRU deployment for Singapore and will further enhance energy security for the country.
- Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET): advising in relation to all contractual arrangements relating to four FSRU-based LNG import terminals in Germany – Wilhelmshaven 1 & 2, Brunsbüttel and Stade, including in connection with the FSRU charter parties, terminal use agreements for short-term capacity and general terms for long-term regasification capacity. This includes advising on rolling capacity auctions and the negotiation of multiple TUAs across successive auction cycles. DET’s capacity auctions support Germany’s long‑term gas supply security by enabling flexible access to regasification capacity.
- Eletricidade de Timor-Leste (EDTL): advising, together with the Asian Development Bank, on the procurement of Timor-Leste’s first solar farm. This is a transformative 100MW development which marked the first major milestone in the country’s transition to renewable energy.

Akaash holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, Australia.
