Overview

Alessandro heads the firm’s litigation practice in Milan. He has a wealth of experience advising prominent Italian and international organisations on a broad range of dispute resolution disciplines, including corporate litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, banking litigation, regulatory investigations and arbitration.

Alessandro regularly represents clients before the Italian civil and commercial courts and arbitration panels, as well as in European Union court hearings.

Alessandro has led on some of the largest dispute resolution cases in Italy, including acting for: 

  • UniCredit and GE Capital Interbanca in various disputes against Maccorp Italiana’s shareholders 
  • Multinational Company in a dispute on the potential liability of the majority shareholder in connection with a controlled company and the minority shareholder of that controlled company
  • International Bank in a multiple action against hundreds of consumers
  • Global Garden Products (GGP), a manufacturer of lawn mowers, tractors and engines, in successful proceedings before the Court of First Instance of the European Union involving a decision by the European Commission supporting the ban on the sale of GGP products by Latvia
  • Santander on a dispute about the payment of sale commissions and bonuses allegedly due by the bank on contracts intermediated by the claimant
  • Banca Popolare di Milano, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara and other banks opposing the list of liabilities under the Italian Bankruptcy Law against Nuova Pansac in Amministrazione Straordinaria and Pansac International in Amministrazione Straordinaria 
  • Terra Firma Investments, a UK company, and its Italian subsidiary Rete Rinnovabile, which owns more than 70 photovoltaic plants in Italy, in a dispute with Terna, the Italian high-voltage grid operator

Professional experience

Alessandro spoke on usury law in banking contracts and credit protection at a conference organised by the Association of Foreign Banks in Italy, November 2014. He was interviewed about litigation in Italy, together with Loris Bovo and Manuela Caccialanza, by Market Intelligence, Getting the Deal Through, November 2016.

Education and qualifications

Alessandro studied law at the University of Bari.
